The answer: When you are using the one at Boston Logan Airport.

At Boston Airport they have a supposedly free WiFi network. However, it is so crippled, and throttles back on activity with such aggression that it is useless…. Why bother installing something that doesn’t work?

So, if you are skiing in New England and are hoping to post your ski photos online before flying out, forget it….

Update: If you have the above problem try changing location. Looks like I was sitting next to a faulty WiFi base-station.

As I said in a previous post American Airlines have lost my ski bag (even after they had 6 hours to get it on the plane). I have just called American Express and they have authorised me under my travel insurance to buy some replacement ski gear. This means that I should at least be able to hit the slopes today.

Bald Mountain is open!: “The front side of Bald Mountain is now open.  Seattle Ridge and the Bowls will open as soon as avalanche control work is concluded in these areas.  Dollar Mountain is open as well.  Don’t forget to be safe, ride with a buddy and HAVE  FUN!!!”

Yesterday, thanks to FlightTrack I knew that my US flight was delayed ([post(http://thesnowsite.com/snowlog/2010/01/19/us-ski-trip-day-1-flighttrack-iphone-app-to-the-rescue/)]), so I did the sensible thing and phoned ahead to my car hire company, Alamo, to say I would be late and to keep my car.

All Ski Patrol and Mountain Watch will be handing out drink coupons to our guests to be safe, Answering questions about the Skier Safety Act and thanking our park users for using the A51 bypass.

Ski Patrol will be offering behind the scene tours in the Dercum Mountain from 10am until 2pm. This tour will include the underground gondola motor room and Patrol Headquarters.

Patrol will give avalanche dog demonstration in the Summit Area. Time TBD

Keystone Sports is offering 20% off select helmets, located in River Run Village”
