Skiing, Boarding and snow around the world

Just found this on the BBC website….

Apparently the Glencoe ski area in Scotland received 32 inches (80 cm) of new snow in just over 24 hours on Wednesday 24 February, 2010… that is, apparently more snow than any other ski area in the world.

According to our daily US snow report for the US on Wednesday the top US snow fall was at Holiday Mountainin New York, and it received 16 inches (40 cm) in the same period.

Glencoe ski centre boasts the heaviest snowfalls in the world:

“The ski centre at Glencoe Mountain is reporting to have had the heaviest snowfalls of any winter sports resort in the world.”
