Skiing, Boarding and snow around the world

Back in September I posted a piece on HangBoarding (see post). Last night I received some more info from Charles at HangBoarding.

What Charles said was:

“Thanks for the mention of our site! Hangboarding has been influenced by both hang gliding and snowboarding, with some mountain biking thrown in for good measure. It really is fast (potentially faster than skiing or snowboarding, due to the more aerodynamic position) and fun. It’s pretty safe, though; we had 1125 runs at Mt. Washington Alpine Resort last year with no accidents. We have a demo tour starting in January 2007 around British Columbia, including Mount Washington Alpine Resort, Sun Peaks, and others. If you are in the area, check our web site for the schedule and reservation information, and come out and try one!”

Details of the tour will be made available at the hangboarding website (tour details)… Unfortunately I won’t be in BC so won’t be able to see the guys in action or give it a go! What is interesting is it looks like the HangBoards will be available for the 2007-2008 season.
