It appears that Ryanair have launched a series of cheap flights from the Ireland and the UK to ski areas in Europe.

There are 4 New Ski Routes from the UK to Grenoble, Salzburg & Klagenfurt with fares from £2.49 (plus tax) – details, and a number of new flights from Liverpool.

For details for flights from Ireland see – Ireland Flights.

All routes available can be seen on the map on Ryanairs main Ryanair.

Now this is an interesting idea. it appears you can buy a chairlift seat at the Whaleback Ski Area in New Hampshire, USA.

Just came across the GreenSnow Database. An interesting site that is “providing impartial information on how global warming is affecting our planet’s snowfall, ski resorts, glaciers and polar areas, as well as what the ski resorts are doing …and what you can do.”

The site has some interesting facts and figures on how ‘green’ certain ski areas are. At present the site has details on around 200 ski areas and also “facts ‘n’ figures” on how climate change is affecting snow and glacier cover worldwide.
