Les Houches, Chamonix Valley, France
We arrived in Les Houches around 7:30 pm local time.
Les Houches is easy to find as it is well sign posted and the first exit on the right after the second tunnel in the valley.
We found our accommodation which was located about 400 m from the main lift in the town (La Conciergerie). The chalet is very nice and run by a British couple called Mike and Tracy (although their Jack Russell dog, Freddie, thinks he runs the place), warm, and in a good location. Mike and Tracy offer bed and breakfast (you need to book) and really make you feel at home. For the ‘tired’ skier Tracy offers massage (Positive Massage – 0450 544220).
Conciergerie, Les Houches (Chamonix Valley) – Conciergerie is on the ground floor
For our first evening we popped out to a little bar near the main lift and had a very nice pizza, and then slept the sleep of the exhausted after our long long drive (I still think the train, or flying, is easier).
